Come through Sis, Join us for an honest discussion on how the growing trend of cycle syncing—sold to us as empowerment—often reproduces harm…
From Instagram influencers to hormone-optimization apps, we’ll unpack how the wellness industry has co-opted menstrual health into something sleek, scientific-sounding, and marketable—yet deeply exclusionary.
Discussion: In this intimate and participatory gathering, we’ll explore:
What cycle syncing is, and why it’s become so popular
The connection between cycle syncing, healthism, and the wellness industry’s obsession with productivity and self-optimization
How this trend marginalizes non-white, disabled, queer, trans, and non-cycling bodies
How we might talk about hormonal health in ways that are inclusive, liberatory, and community-centered
Our intention: To offer a space for sharing, critical thinking/questioning, unlearning and re-learning—not a workshop that tells you what to eat or how to train by your cycle.
Join us as we dive deeper and explore.
Run: Join PLR Edmonton Leader Shelley for a 4/5km walk and jog, followed with brunch.
Keep in mind... we meet you exactly where you’re at (no need to be a "runner") — just come as you are. And if cost is a barrier— please email: projectloverun@gmail.com, NO ONE will be turned away.
